Ever feel like you need to have all the answers — fast?

As entrepreneurs, we admire leaders who move quickly, confidently and “know the answers.”  The ones who pause, ask questions, and listen? They often get overlooked — until you realize they’re the ones building better teams, making smarter decisions, and growing their businesses with more clarity and less chaos.

What if our obsession with certainty is actually slowing us down?

In my work with ambitious business leaders, I see this counterintuitive truth every day:

The most effective leaders aren’t the ones who have all the answers.
They’re the ones who’ve trained themselves to bypass their ego and lean into curiosity.

When my sales manager approached me about a high-stakes client pitch for a major retailer, my initial instinct was to provide all the answers. It would’ve been faster and easier to just take over.

Instead of jumping in, I asked her open-ended questions for her to figure out what she needed.

That moment of curiosity gave her the space to think. And from then on, she never needed help with similar deals again.

It took a few extra minutes.  But it built her confidence, saved me time long term, and strengthened our entire system.

“When someone’s confused, don’t tell them what to do. Get curious.”

This week, I’m sharing my new guide, The Art of Asking Smarter Questions, to help you strengthen your Questioning IQ and leadership edge.

It’s a practical framework built from years of helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses by learning to ask better questions — especially when everyone’s expecting them to give everyone easy answers.

Inside, you’ll discover how to:

  1. Create space for curiosity
  2. Listen fully
  3. Ask questions that open doors
  4. Harness the surprising power of silence

Each practice comes with practical examples that can elevate how you lead, connect, and decide. Consider it your secret weapon for those moments when everyone’s looking to you for “the answer” … and your inner voice is screaming, I was hoping you already knew!

What question might transform your business this week if you had the courage to ask?
